Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive.
Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
Opportunity We are currently looking to fill Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker/ Personal Support Worker (1) Full Time Permanent Position in our Sudbury ON, Northeast Region.
Schedule
- Rotational and every other weekend including statutory holidays.
- Starting wage: $21.96- $23.35 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
Hours
35 hours per week.
Responsibility
- Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with brain injury (BI) Assist individuals with brain injury in instrumental activities of daily living, cognitive and problem-solving skills, community orientation and integration Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, incident reports, and verbal reports as required Participate in training as required
- Follow policies and procedures as required
- Qualification: Post-Secondary in Human or Social Services preferred or Rehabilitation Assistant diploma Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI Current CPR, First Aid is an asset Access to vehicle to use for business and valid driver’s license Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills Sound problem solving skills Proven ability to work independently / autonomously Knowledge of and experience working with local community housing and social services resources Ability to speak, read, and write English French and English Bilingualism is an asset.
