The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a valued member of the interdisciplinary team within the department and organization. They are responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality patient care by assessing and identifying patient needs, implementing and monitoring the patients’ medical plan, and following HPHA policies and procedures. Additionally, the Registered Nurse must follow nursing processes within the profession’s and licensures scope of practice. They will provide education, advice and support to patients and family members.

Requires current registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario and BLS certification. A minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in acute care surgery is preferred.
