POSITION SUMMARY The Child and Youth Counsellor will be a part of the multidisciplinary team that offers crisis intervention and multidisciplinary assessments for children and adolescents who have complex and severe mental health issues in programs across the MH PSU. JOB DESCRIPTION Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care for Program Patients and families. Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Develop programming and activities for the inpatient unit and day treatment programs. Offer support /counselling to individual patients and their families. Provide appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family. Offer mentoring experiences for students and new staff. QUALIFICATIONS Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential) Graduate of a three-year community college program in Child and Youth Counselling (Essential) Eligible for certified membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors (OACYC) (Essential) Experience in paediatric psychiatry (Essential) Certification in CPR and First Aid (Essential) Demonstrated excellent team work and interpersonal skills (Essential) Knowledge of mental health treatment modalities (Essential) Bilingualism (French and English) (Preferred)
