About the role

Support and embrace a resident-centered social culture and deliver high-quality recreational programming for residents.

Work as a key member of multidisciplinary village and neighbourhood teams to understand residents’ individual needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care.

Foster relationships with residents, families, and the village team to deliver holistic care focused on flexible living and quality of life.

Plan gardening-based activities on a per-session basis or as part of a larger curriculum.

Provide hands-on experiences for residents, including planting seeds and caring for plants indoors and outdoors.

In combination with the Recreation Team, support residents to learn, grow, find life purpose and meaning.

Contribute to residents’ holistic health care goals as outlined in care plans (including RAI MDS-Raps, Coding and Activities Initial Assessment) by encouraging physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and cognitive growth

Requirements

Enrolled in or completed a Degree in Horticulture Therapy or equivalent. Completed the required 480 hours of internship. Eligible member of the Canadian Horticulture Therapy Association. Caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
