About the role

Perform a variety of standardized and complex diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring equipment maintenance and radiation safety. Assist in training new staff and students and maintain a clean, safe radiographic environment.

Insight is currently seeking MRT/CLXT to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is a permanent, part-time position with rotation across our 17 locations in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists and our referring Physicians.
  • Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all equipment.
  • DI Equipment: Must have working knowledge of all equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area, with particular attention to radiation safety and infection control.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and all DI office duties.
  • Assist in the training of new staff and students, as requested by MGM.
  • Willingness to cross train in BD, Fluoroscopy and ECG’s.

Skills

  • Committed to excellence in patient care, quality control and adherence to diagnostic imaging standards.
  • Clinical competency in medical radiography.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and practices.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • MRT(R)/CLXT designation in good standing CAMRT, ACMDTT or ACCLXT.
  • Bone Density and Pain Management trained preferred.
  • Medication preparation certificate is preferred.
  • CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.
