Therapist – addictions (45-26)

Hours of Work: 21 hours per week

Job Status

Permanent Base office: Bracebridge Competition #: 44-26 Purpose of the Position: The Therapist will provide direct clinical services to individuals and their families in need of counselling/psychotherapy. The incumbent is responsible for delivering high quality assessment and individual/group treatment/counselling intervention(s) following best practice recommendations. The priority for service provision will be individuals experiencing co-occurring substance use and serious mental illness and residing within the District of Muskoka. The Therapist works in partnership with other internal and external service providers to meet the needs of the client, including the provision of consultation and education internally and externally. Education and Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a Master’s level post-secondary degree in Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work or equivalent degree (equivalency qualifications may be granted based on a combination of education and experience) Registration, membership or application for membership in the college appropriate to your discipline Experience and knowledge working with individuals with mental health and addiction issues Experience providing individual, couple and family brief treatment/counselling interventions, employing best practice approaches Experience in group treatment facilitation and development Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team environment in a rural setting Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, the Internet, and data management software A willingness to serve clients within the communities of the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound A valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s license, a safe and reliable means of transportation, and appropriate insurance for work purposes on your vehicle with a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability coverage. Bilingual in French/English language considered an asset Work schedule may include days/evenings/weekends and statutory holidays. Salary scale: $36.62 to $45.15 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience Benefits include: Enrolment in a Registered Retirement plan with HOOPP where contributions start on date of hire.
