Requirements summary
Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline from an approved post-secondary institution.
Recognized post-basic education related to mental illness and/or substance use.
Two (2) years of recent related experience supporting clients with substance use and mental health issues in a community setting.
Strong knowledge of harm reduction philosophy and practice, including HIV, HCV and related issues.
Experience working with persons living with substance use and mental health concerns.
Experience engaging persons with severe substance use problems who do not readily engage in health care services.
Understanding and application of substance misuse assessments, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, the change process, and community dynamics.
Knowledge of applicable legislation such as Mental Health and Child Protection legislation.

Valid BC Driver's License.

Qualifications
