Job description

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Virtual Care team based in the Interior Health Region. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care through innovative virtual service delivery models, improving access to primary health care for patients across the Interior Health region. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive primary health care services, support chronic disease management, promote health and wellness, and contribute to the ongoing development of virtual care initiatives that enhance patient access and health outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to practice to full scope while collaborating with a diverse team of health care professionals in a dynamic and evolving care environment. This position is delivered through a virtual care model, allowing the successful candidate to work remotely while collaborating with Interior Health clinical teams and supporting patients across the region. This is a permanent part-time (0.60 FTE) position. Hours of Work: Variable hours: 08:30 to 16:30 Scheduling may vary based on operational requirements. On-call may be required.

Salary Range

Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans. May also admit and discharge patients as per organizational policies. Prescribing Medication: Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical treatments. Leadership and Supervision: Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel. Provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations to support professional development. Research and Innovation: Contribute to research aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing nursing practices. Participate in initiatives to influence healthcare policies and population health strategies. Health Promotion: Lead health promotion activities and screenings, focusing on at-risk populations to prevent illness and promote well-being. Support continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate policies related to nursing, interdisciplinary care, and health system practices. Palliative and Long-Term Care: Serve as the most responsible provider for patients in palliative, hospice, and long-term care settings when required. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure compliance with training and incident investigation protocols. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as necessary to support patient care and organizational goals.
