About the role

The technician is responsible for administering Neuronavigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (NnTMS) treatments and providing compassionate care to patients with depression. They also conduct intake assessments, monitor patient progress, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Job Summary Canadian Health Solutions has opportunity for a compassionate, motivated and competent Mental Health Professional to join our team. CHS offers a full suite of mental health assessment and treatment services including state of the art Neuronavigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (NnTMS); a highly effective, non-invasive, drug free treatment option for the treatment of depression.

In this role, you be responsible for creating a supportive, caring treatment environment with a focus on improving quality of life for clients at our clinic. You will work with our team of mental health professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and TMS Technicians.

To be successful in this role you must exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have strong interpersonal skills, with a background in healthcare. Listening to our clients’ concerns and helping them to see things more clearly or in a different light will be a strong asset for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion, while developing trust and rapport to patients struggling with depression, and other co-morbidities. Administer NnTMS treatments according to our protocols, provided by the team of mental health clinical professionals, while ensuring the highest level of patient care and treatment accuracy. (Training and in-house certification will be provided) Contribute to the development of mental health and wellness programs. Support the development of therapeutic interventions for individuals and groups. Conduct patient intake assessments and provide education on clinic therapies ensuring patients have clear understanding of treatment process. Act as a support and “coach” to motivate patients to achieve specific goals related to the improvement of their physical health, mental health, and overall well-bein Provide support and guidance to clients through their treatment, addressing questions or concerns they may have. Monitor client progress and maintain accurate and timely clinical records / documentation in accordance with protocols and standards. Ensuring client treatment plans are administered in accordance with clinic standards Participate, support and contribute to clinical rounds. Documents and communicates pertinent information to other team members. Contribute to team, department and company goals by accomplishing related work as assigned. Maintain clinic equipment and reporting service requirements promptly. Identify TMS safety risks and follow TMS safety policies and procedures. Communicates risks to Treating Physician when needed. Assist with follow up on inquiries and assisting with client scheduling. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and materials in the examination areas necessary for the performance of daily examinations. Informs lead Operator when inventory is needed. Works cooperatively to accomplish additional tasks as necessary to achieve the Employer’s clinical and business objectives. Develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships with patients, the public, other staff and physicians. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other medical related computer software as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, nursing, diagnostic imaging or a related field. 5 - 10 Years of experience working in mental health or healthcare setting with patients suffering from anxiety and depression. Willingness to learn, trained and certified to administer TMS treatments. Training and clinical experience in skill-based psychotherapy. Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal compassionately and effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and other health care staff. High regard for confidentiality and advocacy for patients. Good organizational and time management skills. The ability to multi-task is critical. Demonstrates commitment to continuing education and willingness to participate in ongoing education to upgrade knowledge and skills. Demonstrated ability to be a team player, work independently and in collaboration with others. High level of motivation, maturity & dependability. Must be a fast learner and open to constructive feedback. High level of business maturity in a fast paced, high output practice. Positive attitude and the ability to reflect a professional company image.
