• As an LPN at Vancouver Coastal Health, you will: Perform full scope of practical nursing functions as outlined by BCCNM for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty.
• This includes activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting client care and providing support to clients and their families.
• Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and under general supervisions assists the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Maintain and advance clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM.

• Heiltsuk Hospital also has an Intensive Case Management team for mental health and substance use.
• There is a medical clinic and a pharmacy located in the hospital.
• The healthcare team consists of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PCAs, Laboratory and Radiology Technologists, Combined Lab/X-Ray Technologists, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistants, and Support Services Personnel.Heiltsuk Hospital is located on the traditional territories of the Heiltsuk Nation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Closing Statement This is a rotating Seasonal opportunity per BCNU CA article 17.04. For example: 6 months on, 6 months off (working July - December, off January - June) or 3 months on, 3 months off (working Jan - March and July - September). The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
