Requires a diploma in social services, mental health, or a related field and two years of relevant experience. A valid driver's license and First Aid/BCLS certifications are considered assets.

Reporting to the Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) Supervisor, the purpose of the Mental Health and Addictions Outreach Worker is to provide front-line mental health and addiction services for clients dealing with mental health illness, suicidal ideation, family violence, and/or addictions. The MHA Outreach Worker will establish supportive client relationships through the delivery of community-based programs by helping them navigate services, with the goal of empowering clients and their support network to actively participate in mental health wellness. This position will reinforce, practice and model therapeutic techniques and treatments as part of the MHA care team.
This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
