4 Site: All Sites Department: Medical Imaging, General Radiography Reports to: Supervisor, General Radiography X-Ray Wage Range: $39.20 to $58.80 per hour Shifts: Rotating 8-hour and extended shifts across weekdays, evenings, nights, and weekends. Rotating on-call shifts for afterhours support. (Casual Shifts: Must be available for all shifts. Day, Evening, and Night shifts including on Weekends and Stat Holidays)

This is a Talent Pool posting for all current MRT, General Radiography X-Ray vacancies, all external applicants will be reviewed monthly to interview for all full time, part time, temporary, and casual opportunities that arise in the next 12-months. We welcome all students with a set-exam date to also apply.

Position Summary

Join Medical Imaging at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging department in Canada! Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.

The General Radiography team supports imaging services across the hospital serving inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients. This includes mobile, surgical and intraoperative imaging, as well as fluoro-guided procedures along side radiologists and other specialties.

Successful applicants will be cross-trained in Computed Tomography and shifts will be allocated in both modalities.

Duties

Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform general radiography procedures in multiple settings using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required Fulfill on-call requirements/obligations, as required Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required

Qualifications

CMRITO registration CAMRT certification with current membership, preferred Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
