  • Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Patient Services Manager, in compliance with CRNM Standards of Nursing Practice, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional registered nursing services to patients receiving medical assessment, treatment, or follow-up at CancerCare Manitoba.
  • These services also include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed treatments, a leadership role within the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of patient care.
  • The Registered Nurse assesses patients' and families' physical, psychosocial and spiritual responses to the disease process and/or treatment and provides nursing interventions that include physical care to manage the disease and treatment-related symptoms, psychosocial support and education to encourage active participation in decision-making and self-care.
  • The Registered Nurse works a variable schedule across CCMB sites in Winnipeg and works in a multi-disciplinary team environment to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring

Qualifications: Required: Level of Formal Education & Experience

Current registration, in good standing, with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurse, Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Satisfactory employment record Must be able to work in Canada legally
