The Licensed Practical Nurse applies the nursing process to support clients in achieving optimum health within a people-centered care approach. The role involves working to the full scope of practice across various care settings including Long Term Care and Home Care.
Requires active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba and current Basic Life Support certification. A valid Class 5 driver's license and liability insurance are also mandatory.

Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) applies the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people‐centered care approach within Acute, Transitional, Personal Care Home (PCH), Primary Care, Oncology/Cancer Care, Public Health‐Healthy Living and/or Home Care. The LPN works to full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Manitoba, Code of Ethics, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba and the Regulated Health Professions Act. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud. Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000. May work days, evenings, nights and weekends as necessary. Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
