The Neurology RVT is responsible for providing high-level patient care, including anesthesia, MRI imaging, and managing hospitalized patients. They also handle substantial client communication, patient history intake, and the maintenance of medical records.
Candidates must be a Registered Veterinary Technologist with a college degree in Animal Health Technology. Experience in anesthesia and the care of anesthetized patients is required, while MRI training will be provided.
Usage and care of medical equipment, as well as sterilization Placing IV catheters; calculating drug doses, fluid requirements and Understanding and performing anesthesia, post-anesthetic recovery of Use of anesthetic ventilator and multiparameter Acquire high quality MRI and radiographic images Performing Collection and submission of various laboratory samples for Assisting in Managing hospitalized patients, performing recovery care and additional specialized Substantial client communication is Obtaining patient history and transferring pertinent information into the medical Continuous follow-up with patients and clients due to the chronic disease Help manage department schedule, including consults, rechecks and Provides education and home care instructions to Maintains practice software including client and patient record Follows all SOPs to support smooth hospital Follows all federal and provincial animal health laws and regulations regarding workplace health and safety. Option to participate in on-call rotation for out of hours Openly and proactively communicates updates to DVMs, Lead Specialty RVT and other department team Prioritize interdepartmental synergy by maintaining open lines of communication with other departments. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
Education and Experience Animal Health Technology college Registered member of the Experience in the care and management of anesthetized MRI training will be provided to the successful
