Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for promoting high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients/residents/clients (P/R/Cs). The RN is required to coordinate with all the departments within the facility, families and professionals associated with P/R/Cs care. The RN must promote effective communication in the facility through care given and reporting mechanisms. The RN is expected to participate in staff meetings and educational opportunities to maintain their own professional competence.

Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Nursing diploma is acceptable Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable BLS for Healthcare Provider (Level C) - Heart and Stroke Competencies Basic - Interpersonal skills Basic - Computer skills Basic - Decision making skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to communicate with clients from diverse economic backgrounds Ability to communicate with clients from diverse social backgrounds Ability to work independently Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultural & ethnic backgrounds Communication skills to transfer knowledge/skills Other Information For more information on the city of Estevan please visit http://estevan.ca/ Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
