The Procedure Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, and implementation of Pediatric GI and Endoscopy procedures. This includes preparing patients, collaborating with anesthesia staff, and managing supplies for outpatient and OR-based procedures.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Basic Life Support Certificate. Candidates must have 5 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a pediatric setting.

Under the direction of the Children’s Subspecialty Program Manager, the Procedure Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of Endoscopy procedures and all related Pediatric GI procedures. The Procedure Nurse may also be responsible for any medical procedures occurring within the Pediatric Outpatient Department at JPCH, including within Diagnostic Imaging, Procedure rooms and Operating Room. This role also includes maintaining supplies for outpatient and OR based procedures; preparing for procedures, including contacting patients/families for education re: prep and post procedures; researching equipment and instruments; education and direct patient care; collaboration with anesthesia and recovery room staff; medication administration; indirect patient care; data entry and participating in quality improvement work for the program; as well as processing orders and participating in all other department related practices and protocols.

• 5 years nursing in an acute care area, 3 of which have been in a pediatric area and previous Pediatric GI experience is considered an asset
