Education and Training

Minimum of a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited college or equivalent. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate is required. Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required

Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital setting

Knowledge/Skills Ability

Demonstrated interpersonal / communication skills Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to Dementia Care (GPA) are assets

Personal Suitability

Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record Criminal record check satisfactory to the Hospital is required
