Provide high-quality direct care, personal support, and skill-building for individuals with disabilities within a residential home. Maintain household operations including cleaning, cooking, and record-keeping while fostering a welcoming community atmosphere.
Requires a high school diploma, a valid 'G' driver's license, and current CPR/First Aid certification. Candidates must be at least 25 years old and pass a police check including a vulnerable sector screening.
Together with other members of the house team, the Assistant is responsible for the support, care and well-being of the individuals with disabilities at the house and day-to-day life in the home. The House Assistant is an effective member of the house team, and active member of the local L’Arche community.
The House Assistant of assigned home will spend most of their time in the role at an assigned location or in the community supporting members of the assigned location. From time to time, the House Assistant will be required to be away to attend community, regional or national events and/or trainings.
