The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing resident function and adaptive behavior to develop and implement rehabilitative treatment plans. They oversee the delivery of quality care, maintain clinical documentation, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes.
Candidates must hold a Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy and be in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory board. A minimum of two years of geriatric clinical experience and a current Vulnerable Sector Check are preferred or required.
Reporting to Director of Care, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment of function and adaptive behaviour and the treatment and prevention of disorders which affect function or adaptive behaviour in order to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, or augment function of adaptive behaviour in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. An Occupational Therapist in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory board and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists; Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy required; Knowledge of computer applications preferred; Excellent organizational skills required; minimum of two years of geriatric clinical experience preferred; Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with Resident/families and staff required; Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team required.
