The Health Care Aide assists with patient care and provides basic supportive care as directed. They work under the supervision of health services professionals and are part of a health care team.
Candidates must have a minimum of Grade 10 education and successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course. Previous patient/resident care experience is preferred.

Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Director Health Services, RN and/or LPN, the Health Care Aide acts as a member of the health care team, assisting with patient care and providing basic supportive care as directed. The Health Care Aide demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit. Experience Previous patient/resident care experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
Physical Requirements Involves physical activities such as standing, transferring, and transporting patients/residents and equipment. May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals. May encounter exposure to disease, toxic materials, noise, allergens etc. Requires shift work, extended working hours.
