Implement patient programming under the direction of Occupational and Physical Therapists to maintain resident function. Assist residents with daily living skills and the proper use of adaptive equipment like wheelchairs and walkers.
Requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in Rehabilitation therapy aide or a related field. Preference is given to candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in continuing care and proficiency in computer applications.

What you’ll be doing Working closely with nursing this position is directly accountable to the Occupational Therapist (OT) / Physio Therapist (PT) and Resident Program Manager. Implements the maintenance of patient programming under the direction of the OT/PT. Communicate changes in resident abilities and function to the OT/PT, the unit nurses and the Nursing Rehab lead, to complete the program assigned. Prepares apparatus and equipment required for the program. Working closely with the wheelchair companies to ensure that the resident adaptive aids are safe and functional. Help residents learn skills needed for daily living to improve or maintain resident’s abilities to function independently. They also assist in showing residents how to set up and use equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, and walkers. What you bring Post-secondary diploma or degree in Rehabilitation therapy aide or therapy assistant related field from a community college or university. Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience preferable in Continuing Care but not essential. Excellent Customer Service skills Have a proven track record with fundraising within the experience Experience working with computer applications such as RAI 2.0, Outlook, Word and Excel is an asset Ability to work alone and with others while prioritizing tasks. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
