The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care and services at the Urgent Care Centre, working both independently and collaboratively with physicians. They are responsible for blending advanced clinical knowledge with legal autonomy to evaluate and improve patient and community health outcomes.
Candidates must have a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or a Post-Graduate Practitioner Certificate and be registered with the CRNS. Required experience includes one year as a Nurse Practitioner and three years as an RN in critical, emergency, acute, or primary care.

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through advanced academic preparation and experience. The Nurse Practitioner practices by blending an in-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practice with the legal authority and autonomy as outlined in legislation, regulation, CRNS Bylaws, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The Nurse Practitioner will provide care and services at the Urgent Care Centre within their full scope of practice and competencies for clients both independently and collaboratively with a physician(s) and the healthcare team. As health care professionals, they participate in self and peer review to evaluate the outcome of their services at the patient, community, and population level.
