Provide counselling, intake, and case management services for individuals with addiction challenges residing in Peel Region shelters. Responsibilities include developing care plans, facilitating group sessions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
PAARC is partnering with the Region of Peel to provide counselling and case management service for individuals living with addiction challenges, directly within three Peel Region shelters: Cawthra (2500 Cawthra Road, Mississauga), Wilkinson (15 Wilkinson Road, Brampton) and Motel 6 (160 Steelwell Road, Brampton).
We are hiring three (3) Counsellor/case managers, one for each location.
All roles will be full-time, permanent roles working at the assigned shelter.
The Counsellor/Case Manager will be integrated into the on-site shelter team and will work collaboratively with clients and the care team.
You will be responsible for providing counselling support to clients residing in the shelters, offering group counselling sessions and providing training for shelter staff amongst other responsibilities.
Strong relationship building skills are essential for success.
A Peer Mentor will also be assigned to support the service and there will be ongoing evaluation.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution or relevant education with commensurate experience. Knowledge and/or experience working in a harm reduction framework Relevant experience (2 years) working in a shelter or transitional housing setting an asset Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid required; GAIN Q3 MI ONT Certification an asset Counselling Skills: evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling skills Training/experience administering Naloxone preferred Language Skills: Proficiency in prevalent languages in the Region of Peel and French considered a strong asset.
Valid Ontario Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
Working Conditions Predominantly working in assigned shelter - Cawthra (2500 Cawthra Road, Mississauga), Wilkinson (15 Wilkinson Road, Brampton) and Motel 6 (160 Steelwell Road, Brampton). 35-hour work week; Mon - Fri 8:30 am- 4:30 pm. May be required to work within the community as needed
