Provide specialized individual and group counselling and case management for clients with problem gambling and behavioural addictions. Lead outreach education and health promotion efforts while managing intake, assessments, and crisis interventions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and proficiency in evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling. A valid Ontario Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and current CPR/First Aid certification are mandatory.
As an Addiction Counsellor/Case Manager (Problem Gambling) you will be providing specialized services to those concerned with their own or a loved one's problem gambling or behavioural addiction (e.g. compulsive spending, problem gaming, internet addictions)). You will focus on offering short-term individual and group counselling, non-intensive case management and referrals. To raise further awareness of problem gambling and other behavioural addictions, you will also take the lead in providing outreach education and health promotion.
We are hiring for one (1) full-time, permanent role working within and office environment and within the community (up to 50% community based)

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field from an accredited institution or relevant education with commensurate experience. Knowledge and/or experience working in a harm reduction framework Relevant experience (2 years) working in a shelter or transitional housing setting an asset Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid required; GAIN Q3 MI ONT Certification an asset Counselling Skills: evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling skills Training/experience administering Naloxone preferred Language Skills: Proficiency in prevalent languages in the Region of Peel and French considered a strong asset.
Valid Ontario Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
