  • Students: Eligible for year 1 to 4 Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Department and play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technologists, and surgical team. In this position, you will help deliver exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures while ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate experience for both pets and their families. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments in our surgery department; replenish supplies and ensure cleanliness and adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards. Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas Exceptional client service skills Compassion and nurturing attitude Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Ability to adapt in changing situations Efficient in carrying out assignments independently Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day Support other departments when necessary Schedule 10 hour shifts, 4 days per week What We Can Offer You!
