Provide comprehensive speech language and dysphagia assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients within an acute care setting. Collaborate with an interprofessional team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans and evaluate health outcomes.
Requires current registration and applicable certifications with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of speech language pathology theory, standardized testing, and the ability to work independently in a clinical environment.
The salary range for this position is CAD $44.85 - $56.02 / hour Job Summary
Provides speech language pathology services in accordance with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC standards of practice, Fraser Health mission, values and speech language pathology acute care standard, and in collaboration and partnership with the interprofessional care team in the provision of patient and family centered care. Provides assessment, speech language and dysphagia diagnosis and prognosis, treatment plan and intervention development, implementation and evaluation, and patient consultation and education to enable the patient to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in communications & dysphagia function. Participates in approved speech language pathology and interprofessional research, special projects, and program quality and safety activities.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC including applicable College certification(s).
