Provides administrative and clerical support for the Assertive Community Treatment Team, including transcribing medical dictation and managing client appointments. Acts as a receptionist by greeting clients, answering inquiries, and maintaining statistical records for program planning.
Requires Grade 12 education and a certificate in Medical Transcription or Medical Office Administration, plus one year of related experience. Candidates must possess strong keyboarding skills and knowledge of trauma-informed practice and mental health resources.
Education & Experience Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in Medical Transcription and/or Medical Office Administration Certificate, plus one (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of community, social and mental health resources. Knowledge and experience in providing culturally competent support services specifically pertaining to aboriginal people. Knowledge and experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction and Recovery Oriented care. Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. Ability to organize and prioritize. Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour. Business writing skills. Knowledge of general office procedures. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
