Ultrasound Technologist

• Communication & Collaboration
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families.
• Respond to telephone inquiries related to patient examinations and departmental procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient care and departmental operations.
• Foster positive and respectful working relationships within the Diagnostic Imaging department and across the organization.

• Equipment & Quality Assurance
• Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively to maintain optimal imaging quality.
• Ensure proper care, cleaning, and routine maintenance of ultrasound equipment and examination rooms.
• Maintain adequate supplies and report equipment malfunctions or concerns promptly.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with departmental and organizational standards.

Professional Accountability

• Maintain current professional registration and competencies in accordance with Sonography Canada and CMRITO requirements.
• Practice in accordance with applicable legislation, professional standards, and organizational policies.
• Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and commitment to ongoing learning and development.
• Support and demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of GHC.

Required qualifications

Education: Registered graduate from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma Program

Current Sonography Canada registration

Current CMRITO registration

• Knowledge, skills, & abilities
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated competency in abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts sonography.
• Vascular Ultrasound experience considered an asset.
• Nuchal Translucency accreditation considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging in both routine and non-routine circumstances.
• Proven ability to make frequent and independent decisions while performing technological procedures and assessing diagnostic results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships within a collaborative healthcare environment.
• Strong customer service skills with a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Well-developed self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness skills.
