Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities and complex needs to help them develop independent living skills and connect with their community. Assist clients in their own homes or family settings while promoting their personal beliefs and choices.
Candidates must be physically capable of lifting and transferring clients, comfortable with tube-feeding, and have no pet allergies. Knowledge of Autism, FASD, and Mental Health is considered an asset.
Southern Alberta Community Living Associations' Mobile Team is currently searching for enthusiastic and flexible Community Support Workers to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in your community while sharing your skills and passions and making a difference to those you are working for. The successful applicants will enjoy a changing caseload, supporting a number of individuals living in their own homes. The team will support a number of individuals, ages 18 to 80.
Community Support Workers in Mobile support several people each day, adults or children, usually who live in their own homes, a family home, or with a Home Share Contractor, to connect within their community and/or develop independent living skills. We are looking for staff who are creative, enjoy doing activities, and are able to engage people with disabilities and/or complex needs in a variety of life environments. Staff need to be flexible and like a vibrant workday, as well as, work in a team environment
An understanding of FASD, Autism, and Mental Health is an asset.
This position is a front-line job that is vital in accomplishing the mission and values that govern the work done by this Association. The Community Support Worker is a valued member of a team that assists individuals, supported by our Association, to live in the community as independently as possible. They support and actively encourage the individuals to live in accordance with their own beliefs, desires and choices.
As a team member, the CSW strives to communicate in a considerate, thoughtful and attentive manner with their co-workers and the individuals we support. A CSW will represent the Association courteously and professionally in all interactions they have with guardians, other agencies and the community at large.
