Position Title

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Type: Permanent Part-time Compensation: $30.87 – $31.30/hour as per collective agreement Vacancies: 1 existing vacancies Elgin Manor is a 90-bed long-term care facility situated in the Township of Southwold, just a few minutes outside of St. Thomas, Ontario. Each home area is equipped with recreation rooms, sitting areas, and television lounges to enhance programming, socialization, and visits from family and friends. Elgin Manor also features multiple outdoor garden patio areas and walkways in a tranquil rural setting, right in the heart of beautiful Elgin County.

About the Role

As a certified Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our residents’ daily lives. You’ll be joining a dedicated care team that works collaboratively to support dignity, safety, and overall well-being through established job routines. Your responsibilities include: Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and transfers Assisting with meals and nutrition support Tidying resident rooms and common areas Performing minor treatments and reporting health observations Responding to call bells with attentiveness and empathy Participating in care planning through daily reports and documentation Supporting inclusive, respectful, and equitable care delivery Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Completion of a Personal Support Worker certificate program from a recognized post-secondary institution. Must be willing to further training/education of the Personal Support Worker field through in-services, etc. Familiarity with: Health & Safety Procedures Resident Bill of Rights Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 Point Click Care Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.
