The housekeeper is responsible for performing routine and rotation cleaning duties to maintain sanitation and safety standards within the community. They also monitor resident behavior and ensure that all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and efficiently.
Candidates must have at least a Grade 10 education, a WHMIS certificate, and a First Aid certificate. Applicants must also be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs and pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check.
This position is covered under the HEABC wage levelling. Please note the wage is currently being adjusted and topped up by the government and the displayed wage is therefore reflective of such initiative.

The Housekeeper reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and performs all aspects of cleaning duties in the community to maintain the established standards for sanitation, cleanliness, and safe work environment for all persons served.
4. Reports significant changes or uncommon resident behaviour or concerns to nursing staff as required..
5. Attends and participates in community and education programs.
6. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications: and Skills:
1. Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2. WHMIS Certificate.
3. First Aid Certificate as applicable.
4. Free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions which may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
5. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
6. All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
7. Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to work with cleaners, detergents and other cleaning equipment.
