The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for reception, administrative functions, and providing support to Nurse Practitioners within the Tla’amin Health clinic. Key duties include scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring the efficient operation of the clinic environment.
Candidates must have a Grade 12 education and a recognized Medical Office Assistant program certificate, along with at least one year of recent clinical experience. Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and a commitment to maintaining strict patient confidentiality are required.

Permanent, Part Time Job Title: Medical Office Assistant Hours of Work: 24 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Additional hours may be available subject to operational requirements.
Grade 12 education and completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program, along with a minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a medical or clinical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical office procedures Demonstrated knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards related to the handling of personal and health information in a healthcare setting Successful Criminal Record Check First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Valid Driver’s License and successful Driver’s Abstract Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and the Microsoft Office Suite Strong skills in data entry, electronic filing, and document management systems Ability to adapt to and learn new technology and software tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities Effective organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a busy work environment Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Knowledge of Indigenous health and wellness practices Working Conditions Work is performed at Tla’amin Health clinic. Occasional travel to attend meetings or training is required.
