Position Summary

  • Are you looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory department. Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Technologist, obtains and prepares specimens for routine analysis. Performs various routine Hematological, Microbiological, Biochemical and Immunohematological testing in accordance with Departmental Procedures. GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 27 Acute Care beds, 4 ICU beds and 5 crisis stabilization beds. Some services provided the hospital:
  • Full Emergency Medical Care
  • Laboratory
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Pharmacy
  • General Surgery
  • Internal Medicine
  • Otolaryngology (ENT)
  • Community Cancer Care
  • Physiotherapy
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Environmental Health
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology
  • Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas.

  • Graduate of an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology and current Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science registration.
  • One (1) year recent related experience.
  • Experience in all the above disciplines preferred. Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology. Current Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science registration. One year recent related experience
