Position Summary

Northern Health is seeking Family Physician locums to provide rural generalist services in Hazelton, BC, based at Wrinch Memorial Hospital and Wrinch Medical Clinic. Locum assignments can be tailored to physician availability, with opportunities ranging from short-term coverage to extended placements. Physicians provide a broad and rewarding rural scope of practice, including: Community-based Family Medicine Emergency Department coverage Inpatient care Long-term care services Optional outreach clinics in surrounding communities The practice offers flexibility, strong collegial support, and the opportunity to experience comprehensive rural medicine in a collaborative environment. Team Support & Mentorship Locum physicians are supported by: An experienced and collaborative physician group Nurse Practitioners, Registered Midwives, and interdisciplinary health professionals Visiting specialist services Buddy ER shifts and mentorship support when appropriate The Wrinch Medical Staff are known for their welcoming culture, teamwork, and commitment to culturally safe, patient-centered care. Qualifications Applicants should: - Hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)

Have Emergency Medicine experience

Possess current ACLS and ATLS certification (PALS an asset) Additional rural medicine experience, Indigenous Cultural Safety training, POCUS skills, and experience working in team-based care environments are considered assets Qualfications System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.String]

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). Have Emergency Medicine experience. Possess current ACLS and ATLS certification (PALS is an asset).
