$100,090.56 - $127,397.44 annually Close Date 5/18/2026 Job Type Regular Full Time Temporary End Date Ministry/Organization BC Public Service -> Children & Family Development Ministry Branch / Division JFPS Job Summary The Team Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) is mandated to provide inpatient and outpatient Court-ordered and Court-related assessment and treatment services to young persons in conflict with the law, pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. YFPS also provides services to young persons found unfit to stand trial and those youth found not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder (NCRMD), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. Services are provided through outpatient clinics and contracted service providers located throughout the province. Assessment and treatment services for youth may include specialized treatment services for: youth who may have committed violent or sexual offences; youth who have offended and are experiencing mental health, behavioral, or substance use problems; and youth in custody facilities who need mental health services. The Role As a Licensed Psychologist, you will conduct independent psychological assessments for youth involved in the justice system, whether residing in the community or in custody. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver specialized counseling and therapeutic interventions, while also providing supervision and mentorship to junior psychologists and students. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of assessment and treatment services, contributing meaningfully to the mental health and rehabilitation of justice-involved youth.
