The successful candidate will perform a broad spectrum of interventional radiology procedures, including arterial, venous, and organ-specific interventions. They are also expected to participate in patient consultations and pre- and post-procedure management within a clinical environment.
Applicants must hold an MD degree, have completed Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology, and be eligible for licensure in British Columbia. Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is mandatory.
Education, Licensing, & Experience: Anesthesia Experience – Desired Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full or Provsinal or Acadamic Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) – Desired Surgical Skills – Mandatory All applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology (IR), and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful applicant will be located at Vancouver General (VGH) and University of British Columbia (UBCH) Hospitals. Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience are required in the following: interventional oncology including chemoembolization, radioembolization, visceral thermal ablation and complex biopsy; central and peripheral venous diagnostic and reconstructive procedures including thrombolysis and thrombectomy, pulmonary thrombolysis and thrombectomy, peripheral and visceral arterial intervention; TEVAR and other aortic interventions; and reproductive interventions including gonadal vein embolization and Fallopian tubal canulation.. The successful candidate must possess a working and current fund of knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, workup, management and performance of all procedures related to vascular anomalies. The position also involves performing pain management and spinal injection procedures with experience in complex musculoskeletal interventions being highly desirable. The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating practice that includes vascular CT, MR, and US imaging in the setting of quaternary care and Level 1 Trauma Centre.
