Requires a valid criminal record and social development check, along with a preference for a diploma in human services, social work, or psychology. Candidates must be flexible with shift hours and possess strong communication and crisis management skills.
MCRI (Moncton Community Residences Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential services, options and support for individuals with developmental challenges in the various aspects of their progressing lives.
As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of 3 to 4 youth with disabilities residing in our residential facilities. These individuals require specialized care due to their unique needs, including frequent behaviors that may require patience, empathy, and understanding. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive care and support to these youth, fostering a nurturing and safe environment where they can thrive.
1. Relief/ Casual Staff
Develop and implement uniquely designed support services.
Provide consistent support.
Must be able to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours.
Support healthy relationships and lifelong connections.
Provide behavioral support and crisis Intervention.
Provide emotional guidance.
Foster social inclusion.
Maintain documentation and reporting policies.
Maintain a collaborative approach.
Ensure a healthy and safe approach.
Commitment to deliver high quality services.
Shift Hours: Must be Flexible
Preference will be made for a Human services diploma, social work, psychology equivalent.
Knowledge of community resources and support services.
Good computer knowledge.
First-Aid and CPR
SD check and criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check).
Spoken and written English (writing reports in English).
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work evenings, and weekend rotation.
Ability to attend work consistently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Crisis management skills.
