The Rehabilitation Assistant performs direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, or speech-language pathologists. They also carry out administrative, clerical, and light housekeeping tasks as assigned.
Candidates must have a high school education and have completed a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant, OTA, or PTA program. The role requires the ability to perform physical patient transfers and maintain professional standards in a clinical healthcare environment.

Position Overview Under the direction of the applicable manager, and as delegated and supervised primarily by the Physiotherapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), and/or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) performs both direct and indirect patient/resident/client care activities as determined by the specific employer. Additionally, they may carry out administrative, clerical, light housekeeping tasks, and other duties as assigned. Experience Recent and related direct patient/resident/client care experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) program with a practicum component, or an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)/Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) program. Graduates of International Physiotherapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT) programs, as well as students currently pursuing a Canadian university degree in PT or OT will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Certification/Licensure/Registration Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer’s policy.
