The Recovery Home Support Worker assists clients with activities of daily living, provides crisis support, and engages in community relations activities. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment and supporting clients in their recovery journey.
Candidates must have a Grade 12 education and a relevant Social Services Diploma or Certificate. Two years of experience in a psychiatric setting and knowledge of Indigenous cultures are preferred.

We are seeking a Recovery Home Support Worker to join our team, working collaboratively to enhance client safety, assisting with activities of daily living, and encouraging full participation in community activities and programs.
Under the direction of the Recovery Home Supervisor the Recovery Home Support Worker provides culturally informed crisis intervention, coping strategies, education, connections to community services, and support to individuals affected by mental illness, addictions, trauma, and crisis. The Recovery Home Support Worker will also engage in community relations activities to supporting clients and the community.

What you bring
Grade 12, & Social Services Diploma, or Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker educational program, such as Health Care Support Worker Certificate, Certificate in Community Mental Health, Human Service Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certificate is required. Food safe Level 1 is required Current First Aid min 8 hours and CPR level 2 with AED Certification Non-Violent Crisis Training an asset. Two (2) years’ experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues, or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work. Experience managing Adverse Interactions Experience in group work with clients an asset. Experience with Client Intake process an asset. Experience working with Indigenous clients in crisis situations. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information. Ability to balance competing priorities, multitask, and to work under pressure.

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contemporary issues. Experience working within Indigenous communities and applying culturally safe practices. Understanding of intergenerational trauma and its impacts on Indigenous peoples and communities.
