What you’ll do

Prepare patients for their upcoming physical examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.

Support the physician in meeting appointment targets, while contributing to a smooth and well-organized workflow.

Assist in minor surgical procedures by providing crucial support to the physician, including the administration of local anesthetics when necessary.

Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked exam rooms to ensure a smooth patient experience, as well as sterilize surgical instruments and assist with clinic housekeeping.

Follow up with patients post-care, addressing any questions or concerns to ensure their continued well-being.

Handle requisitions and specimen collection, ensuring accuracy and proper management of pathology reports.

Communicate lab results to patients and facilitate referrals to specialists when required.

Manage the flow of documents through digital channels, including scanning and faxing as necessary.

Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing overall service excellence and patient satisfaction.

Assist in clinical research as needed, contributing to the advancement of dermatological care.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in dermatology, incorporating best practices to improve patient care.

Assist with Clinical Research as needed.

Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the clinic’s overall success and continued growth.

What you will bring along

Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant college program or an equivalent scientific program (minimum degree in a health science is required).

A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, always placing patients' needs and comfort first.

Prior experience in specimen management is an asset.

Phlebotomy and ECG experience is an asset.

A strong knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.

Proficiency with technology and software, including EMR, PMS (Patient Management Systems), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.

Strong time management and organizational skills, with the flexibility and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

A natural ability to build strong, positive relationships with both patients and staff, fostering a collaborative and caring environment.

Requirements

Candidates must possess current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have completed a Medical Laboratory Assistant program or an equivalent scientific program, requiring a minimum health science degree.
