The Psychiatric Liaison Nurse performs intake assessments, offers crisis intervention, and provides input into the care of psychiatric and concurrent disordered patients in the Emergency Department, assisting with patient flow and adapting care plans. Responsibilities also include screening referrals, performing psychosocial assessments, developing care plans authorized by physicians or psychiatrists, and providing short-term follow-up treatment or case management services.
Candidates must have graduated from an approved school of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing and hold current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). A minimum of one year of recent related experience in an acute or community mental health and substance use setting is required, along with skills in assessment, crisis intervention, and knowledge of mental illness treatment and psychopharmacology.
The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour Job Summary

Qualifications: Education and Experience
Graduation from an approved school of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). One (1) year recent related experience in acute or community mental health and substance use setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
