The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering quality patient care by assessing needs, implementing, and monitoring the patient's medical plan according to HPHA policies. They must also provide necessary education, advice, and support to both patients and their family members.
Candidates must possess current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and current BLS certification, along with completion of IV Therapy Initiation and Discontinuation courses. A minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably in Medicine/Complex Continuing Care Nursing, is required.

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a valued member of the interdisciplinary team within the department and organization. They are responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality patient care by assessing and identifying patient needs, implementing and monitoring the patients’ medical plan, and following HPHA policies and procedures. Additionally, the Registered Nurse must follow nursing processes within the profession’s and licensures scope of practice. They will provide education, advice and support to patients and family members.
