The nurse will advocate for First Nations clients with diabetes, planning, delivering, and evaluating care through education, screening, testing, and follow-up in various settings. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate medical records, collaborating with providers, and acting as a resource for diabetes awareness.
Candidates must possess knowledge of First Nations culture, particularly Carrier and Sekani preferred, and expertise in diabetes management. Required qualifications include strong communication, organization, teaching, and documentation skills, proficiency with EMRs, and current registration as an RN, LPN, or RD, with a willingness to obtain Diabetes Educator certification.
Carecor is seeking a dedicated Diabetes Nurse to support the Mobile Diabetes Clinic in delivering accessible, culturally safe diabetes care to Northern First Nations communities. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with our healthcare partners to provide assessments, complication screening, education, and follow‑up through mobile and telemedicine services. Guided by Carecor’s commitment to compassionate, client‑centered care, you will help improve wellness and diabetes outcomes for individuals who may otherwise face barriers to accessing essential health services.
