As a Geriatric Psychiatrist, you will provide consultations and longer-term psychiatric care, utilizing a team-based approach. You will also collaborate in managing concurrent substance use disorders and facilitate continuity of care between acute and community settings.
Candidates must have a provisional or unrestricted license to practice medicine in British Columbia and a Fellowship in Psychiatry. Ideally, applicants should have completed a Geriatric Psychiatry Subspecialty Residency training.
Education, Licensing, & Experience: Provisional or unrestricted license to practice medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia Fellowship in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and ideally completion of a Geriatric Psychiatry Subspecialty Residency training Eligibility or current appointment as clinical faculty with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory Knowledge & Abilities: Strong knowledge base in psychopharmacology and psychological interventions.
