Explain procedures to prepare patients for testing and answer related questions. Perform non-invasive examinations by attaching electrodes, operating equipment, analyzing and recording data for interpretation by cardiologist and/or internist. Monitor cardiac pacemakers, notify cardiologist and/or internist of abnormalities, and contact patients for repeat recordings as required. Monitor patients and scan test strips during cardiograms and stress tests and take appropriate action upon recognition of arrhythmias or other abnormalities in accordance with policies and procedures. Scan and analyze ECG, stress, Holter and event monitor, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring test strips; select and assess appropriate portions and summarize for interpretation by medical staff. Transfer and assign ECGs in ECG Cardiology Management systems (e.g., Tracemaster) for interpretation by medical staff. Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment as required. Monitor departmental activity levels and assist fellow staff to meet requests for service. Maintain statistics and file completed reports. Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as paper rolls, electrodes, and leads. Participate in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance programs (including LEAN projects/initiatives) by providing information and input to Manager (or designate). Participate in instruction/orientation of staff and/or students by assisting with departmental orientations, in-service presentations, demonstrating procedures and answering questions.
