The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) applies the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered approach across various care settings. The incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods while maintaining competency congruent with professional standards and organizational policies.

Overview

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Psychiatric Nurse, the Health Care Aide provides support and assistance to residents/patients with Activities of Daily Living as outlined in their care plan. The HCA must work to their full scope of practice while engaging in necessary education and certifications to maintain competency.
