Process clinically reviewed and approved medication orders for distribution to patients. Receive and verify prescriptions for completeness and authenticity (including allergy status and demographics). Enter, count, measure, package/re-package, and compound sterile pharmaceutical products including hazardous drugs. Pre-package oral, liquid, and topical medications into unit-of-use format. Verify accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions (including final check). Enter and ensure accuracy of drug and personal health information in the pharmacy information system. Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies. Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leave of absence by reviewing and converting existing inpatient medication orders. Maintain accurate records including medication verification and quality assurance check results. Distribute medications and maintain relevant inventory, wardstock, and narcotic records. Maintain inventory and wardstock levels; fill wardstock and narcotic requisitions. Identify outdated drugs for return or destruction by checking lot expiry dates. Maintain department work areas (tidiness and order), stock pharmaceuticals/labels/containers/glassware, and ensure safe disposal of hazardous drugs and supplies. Perform related clerical duties (keyboarding, answering telephone, filing, maintaining medication and prescription records). Perform other related duties as assigned
