Obtain laboratory samples from patients as required. Perform laboratory procedures and analyze results according to established policies. Prepare solutions, reagents, standards, and controls in accordance with SOPs. Respond to requests and inquiries for test results by methods required by SOPs. Communicate test results to appropriate parties in accordance with established SOPs. Perform routine instrument maintenance including setup, calibration, and maintenance. Identify and report equipment malfunctions in accordance with DAP practices. Assist in evaluation of technical procedures and provide input into development/maintenance of policies and procedures for assigned work area. Participate in departmental training and orientation by demonstrating established laboratory procedures to new employees and students. Assist with information management such as workload statistics (gathering information, completing analysis, recording information). Maintain inventory of supplies (identify depleting stock, notify personnel, complete requisitions and forward for approval and ordering). Perform other related duties as assigned
