This position assists in transforming healthcare delivery and patient care throughout our province. Join a team of individuals working to help patients, families and caregivers with the right care at the right time in the right place. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physician Assistant (PA) will work under the direction and supervision of the Physician to provide preventative and/or ongoing medical and clinical care management to patients. The PA role contributes to extending the services provided by the physician, through completing assessments and interventions along the spectrum of care provided to patients within their division/department under their supervisory agreement. Graduate of or currently enrolled in an accredited recognized Physician Assistant program in Canada, United Kingdom, or United States Certification through the Physician Assistant's Certification Council (CCPA), Royal College of Physicians, or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C) Eligible for license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Nova Scotia Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Medical Liability Insurance required Certifications or willingness to obtain, when needed: Basic Life Supports, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support Currency in medical readings and evidence-based guidelines Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment and telecommunications skills Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
